The diary's full, but there's never as much in the bank as there should be. CIS, VAT and payroll eat into your evenings and weekends. You're not sure you're charging enough, or which jobs actually make you money. And you only hear from your accountant when a deadline's due.
You know your numbers, your prices cover your costs and leave a proper profit, and your tax is planned well before the bill lands. That's what we do. We work with plumbing and heating businesses every day, so we already know your world: CIS, van finance, materials on account and the quiet summers. We take the compliance off your plate, then sit down with you through the year to help you grow.

We’re a team of accountants and bookkeepers who work with plumbing and heating businesses every day. You get a fixed price agreed up front, a team that picks up the phone, and advice all through the year, not just at deadline time. Our founder, Aaron, also wrote The Quote Handbook and The Systems Handbook to help trades businesses price for profit and run on proper systems.

Real stories from real clients. We keep names private, but every figure is genuine.

A plumbing and heating engineer came to us after being let down by their previous accountant, just as they were setting up a new limited company. We set the company up properly, got cloud accounting software running so the business was easier to manage day to day, and shared practical advice on winning more work. All of it was done remotely, by email, video call and WhatsApp. Within the first year they took on their first team member, and we handled the payroll set-up and paperwork so they didn’t have to.

A start-up solar installer looked at three accounting firms before choosing us, even though we weren’t the local option. Because most of their installation work is zero-rated, they pay out more VAT on materials than they charge, which puts them in a repayment position. We moved them onto monthly VAT returns, so that money comes back twelve times a year instead of four. We also set them up on Xero with CIS built in from day one. For a young business, that cash flow makes a real difference.

After incorporating, a director kept paying into their pension from the company bank account. The pension provider was still treating those payments as personal contributions and claiming basic rate tax relief on them, while they were also being recorded as a company expense. That meant relief was effectively being claimed twice, which HMRC would eventually have picked up. Our review spotted it before the accounts were filed. We corrected the position and worked with the client’s financial adviser to switch to employer contributions going forward, which is usually the more tax-efficient route for a company director.

A self-employed client came to us for their self assessment. We prepared and filed their return, and HMRC repaid £4,203 in tax, which we reconciled and passed straight back to them.
